Right at Home: Caring and keeping people safe
By Helen Livesey, The Business Clinic Organisation CIC
A BCO Practitioner for more than two years, Karen Myres and her team at local home and social care franchise, Right at Home Preston, have been working hard to deliver their quality care throughout the coronavirus crisis.
Right at Home Preston, based in Walmer Bridge, provides a vital service for families across the area.
Its hardworking and dedicated team has had to adapt to the constant changes over the past few months.
Directors Karen Myres and Jayne Price began their planning to meet the challenges early on, allowing them to take a proactive approach to the essential care their company provides.
They have been able to get the right PPE in place from the beginning and distributed to staff quickly and efficiently, to ensure the quality care can continue, while being in line with government guidelines at every turn.
To date, no caregivers or receivers from the Right at Home Preston facility have had any symptoms of Covid-19. The entire team has access to testing and all results so far have returned negative.
Many of the people, who are receiving care from the Right at Home team, don’t just rely on their services for practical reasons. The caregivers are quite often an important social contact for them, as well as supporting them in their home. They are more like friends and family to those they care for on a regular basis.
The team has a genuine passion for helping people in their community and right now their number one priority is to be able to continue to safely care for these people in their own homes and fulfil their desired quality of life where they feel safe and comfortable.
One recent client wrote:
“I am just writing to let you know how happy mum seems. A big thank you to all your lovely carers for keeping mum safe and well during these difficult times.”
“Thank you for everything you and your wonderful carers are doing in these difficult times. We clap for you every Thursday! You really are heroes.”
We couldn’t be prouder to shout about our hard-working Practitioners Karen and Jayne, who work tirelessly to ensure their client and staff needs are met. They really care about the work that they do and are a pillar in our community. Thank you so much for all that you and the team do!
